Filipina Genius
Never thought this would possible. At age 4, Mikaela Irene Fudolig, known as Mikki to her family and friends, a pure Filipino, started to attend grade school, (grade 1 to be exact). At age 11, she started to attend college and is under a curriculum designed especially for her giftedness and what amazes me the most is that at age 16, she was able to finish college in University of the Philippines, majoring in BS Physics (Physics pa talaga!) with a cumulative average of 1.099. Such a success story! Just proves that nothing in this world is impossible, everything indeed is possible.
In college at 11, she’s UP summa cum laude at 16

MANILA, Philippines — She was shielded from public view as an undergraduate student at the University of the Philippines. Today, at the UP commencement exercise in Diliman, Quezon City, 16-year-old Mikaela Irene Fudolig triumphantly steps into the spotlight as she delivers a speech as the valedictorian of the graduating class. The summa cum laude with a general weighted average of 1.099 will also receive the Best BS Physics Student award and the Dean’s Medallion for Excellence in Undergraduate Studies at the UP College of Science. (She earlier qualified as a regional finalist for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines.)
Mikaela was only 11 when she became a college student as part of an experimental program that would test the possibility of gifted children entering university without compromising their emotional and social development….

Her success story truly makes every Filipino proud!
Keep it up Mikaela Fudolig!
We are proud of you!
Blessings
God truly blesses you more than what you ask for. And the past week He blessed me with so much. I finished my mentorship training today. I was late, hehe. I’m a certified Filipino
last week I was 30 minutes early, but today, I was 30 minutes late. Oh well, talk about time management. The training went well, as usual, I learned a lot again. Can’t wait ‘til next semester, I wanna know who my protégé(s) is/are.
Chatted with Billy and Kaye! It has been a while since I last talked to them. If you know Billy, please pray for him. He’s been busy serving the Lord lately, in ISCF/IVCF as well as their church’s youth camp. Pray for his health that the Lord will continue to strengthen him as he do his responsibilities.
Talking to Kaye made me miss her more. She’s really an endangered species; I mean that in a good way. No one can replace this good friend of mine. I promised Kaye a date, and it’s not just an ordinary date. I promised to take her out for a real treat, a musical theater production by Trumpets Philippines! Hopefully, in two years time, they’ll showcase “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” again. I guarantee this one is better than the movie- a must-see production!
My term marks are out today; I got a cumulative average of 4.0 and is listed in the President’s Honour Roll. Praise God for giving me the wisdom, guidance and strength. All my hardwork paid off. Now that school is over, I will invest my time doing my devos, writing and just spending time with Him and the kiddos.
Our ladies’ BS last Tuesday was a real blessing
Thank God for the wonderful ates I have. *shoutout to ate Gail, ate Hannah and ate Grace G*
I worked as a supply teacher last Thursday for 8 hours. I also volunteered in a daycare nearby. Apparently, I can’t get enough of being with children! I’d rather do something that is child-related rather than be a bum at home. Children are just so adorable. I’m awed by what God can do. Imagine, He specially crafted the lives of these little people. All the smiles, laughters, their kakulitans, simple acts of sweetness are carefully designed by God to define their being in an irresistible manner. There’s this child, William, his background is Chinese and resembles my friend in DMCI, he won’t let go of my hand and oftentimes, he will ask me to read a book for him (Mr.Slow’s his favourite) and will sit on my lap, for his age, he’s pretty big boy but not fat, just big and heavy, and big, and heavy, oh did I mention big and heavy? Anyhow, he’s a real sweetie. There’s this girl too, her name is Vivian, she’s a darling. Too bad I’m not allowed to take pictures of them.
I received a call from my aunt in Chicago asking if we wanna spend a week or two or even a whole month there. They’ll pay for the fare. I’m pinning my hopes high on this trip ‘coz originally we were suppose to fly to California instead of Chicago, but Chicago is closer so yeah, we might go there this summer. I badly wanna see them again, specially the three-Gs
my cousins.
Watched Akeelah and the Bee last night, ‘coz last night was our movie night (J.Crew…yeah!) I so love that movie. Just wanna share a verse from one of the OST, Wake Up Everybody.
Wake up all the teachers time to teach a new way
Maybe then they’ll listen to whatcha have to say
Cause they’re the ones who’s coming up and the world is in their hands
when you teach the children teach em the very best you can.
I guess my hopes of meeting Hillsong United is turning into a reality! They’re having a concert in
Toronto this June! Waah, a much awaited praise and worship time with other Christians in T.O! Good stuff. Plus, I can finally see and hear the drummer play live … hmm…I’d dream bigger, I wanna meet the drummer up close! ;)
Lastly, I praise God for the life of my sister-in-Christ, Joanne Hernandez.
Enjoy your last year as a TEEN!
and may you continue to grow beautifully in God’s grace. I wanna post a picture of you and me here, but I don’t think we have a picture together though. *Sad. When I visit the
Philippines, we should take a photo together and I’ll just recycle that every April 29th. Hehe.. Anyway, have a great one, Joanne! Miss you. *hugs*

I am Nothing
One of my many favourite songs. I’d say this song is in my top 5 list. Such a nice song, and even greater lyrics.
Words and Music by Ginny Owens: BMG Songs, Inc. (Gospel Division)/Above The
Rim Music (Administered by BMG Songs, Inc.) (ASCAP)
I could travel over oceans, cross the deserts, climb the mountains
Just to share Your story, bring You glory, and win souls for You.
AND I could sing like an angel, songs so humble and so thankful
Full of drama and emotion, so the world would know Your truth.
I could give away my money and my clothes and my food
To restore those people who are poor, AND lost, and down-and-out.
Oh, I could succeed at all these things,
Find favor with peasants and kings,
But if I do not love, I am nothing.
I could live a flawless life,
Never cheat or steal or lie,
And always speak so kindly, smile SO warmly, and go about doing good.
I could dedicate myself to do what everyone else wants me to-
Listen to them, compliment them, say the things I should.
I could show up every Sunday, lead the Choir and Bible Study
And they all might come to know me as a leader and a friend.
Oh, I could achieve success on Earth, but success cannot define my worth
And all these actions, all these words, THEY will not matter in the end
Chorus:
CAUSE Songs will fade to silence,
Stories, they will cease.
The dust will settle, covering all my selfless deeds.
So as I strive to serve You,
Won’t You make it clear to me,
THAT If I do not love, I am nothing.
Bridge:
AND If I cannot live my life loving my brother,
Then how can I love the One who lived His life for me?
OH, Sent to Earth from Heaven,
Humble Servant, Holy King,
Come to share a story, get no glory, and save my searching soul,
You knew that I’d deny You, crucify You, but nothing could stop You from
living for me, dying for me, so that I would know-
Chorus:
THAT Songs will fade to silence,
Stories they will cease,
The dust will settle covering ALL MY selfless deeds.
But Your life here has made it clear enough for me to see
That if I do not love, I am nothing
