Patience.
This message from a friend dawned on me. It left me speechless and pierced my heart big time.
“God is pleased when we patiently endure the suffering that comes our way- it prepares us to glorify Him.”
The thought of the message gave me a different perspective on my current situation. Truly, His words never fail to uplift us even in our deepest struggles.
Buko Pie, I Miss You
I wanna teleport to Laguna right now and buy lots of BUKO PIE! I want some- I am really craving for it.
Bakit walang masarap na buko pie dito? Aling Lety and Colette I need you! *desperate cry*
25 years!
Today is my parents’ 25th wedding anniversary! :D
Although mama is not here with us to celebrate this special day, it was okay naman though papa looks a bit sad. Tsk. To cheer him up, we forced him to tell stories of how mama captured his heart (naks!:D), his panliligaw days (taga-Valenzuela tatay ko at taga-Cubao naman nanay ko, imagine the travel time…hehe), pamamanhikan up to the wedding day.
Hearing his stories made me realize that UPIS, UP and IVCF indeed played big roles in their lovelife…hehe! Particularly ISCF (where my mother came to know the Lord) as well as SVCF (where my mother grew more and where my father came to know the Lord as well as his infamous SAGUSI group). No wonder why they are so passionate about the ministry up to this day. Sure enough, it will always be close to the heart of the Roy-San Diego family.
Next year will be the renewal of vows which will be held here in Toronto- supposedly, in the Philippines but they’ve decided to do it here instead… Waah, 25 years!
Amazing talaga si Lord.
To my beautiful and ever-loving parents,
Happy happy 25th wedding anniversary!
I praise God with thanksgiving in my heart for wonderful parents like you.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
As One
20 minutes before Youth night + 15 minutes after Youth night… so that’s like 15 minutes before 11 in the evening + 45 minutes of practice last Saturday equals to ONE BLESSED PRAISE AND WORSHIP TIME
Though that was my shortest and latest praise and worship practice with the Youth (yeah I know, I am not a teen anymore, but I’m still part of the ministry you know…hehe, plus both drummers had to go camping over the weekend) I had a blast! I enjoyed playing every bit of it for the Lord!
It really helps if the songs are familiar to me— AND…hmm… if the songs are youthful. Hehe! I usually play for the adult band and they prefer “adults songs”. Hehe. Mind you, we attend a baptist church (progressive one)…So from hymns to contemporary… And sometimes, the tempo/beat/structure of the songs they choose is just so complicated. Hehe. The bright side of it, those songs help me improve my drumming more.
Oh well. There’s this one song (part of the line up yesterday) that I really love: Time Has Come by Hillsong United. Hay. I learned one thing though, never play this song in flipflops. The song demands continuous, strong bass kicks. After our Friday night practice, my right foot (the one I utilize to play the bass) was so red, and the ve*n—was so sore. I didn’t notice it while I was playing ‘coz I had a fun time playing the song! I love fast songs. But ayun nga, namaga paa ko tas there was a purplish bruise and bukol the next day :(
Good job Yw 24/7! Like what the adults say, that was the best one so far.
We nailed it—we played as one! And our hearts were all out for our One and Only audience- GOD.
Just wanna share something, its from Matt Redman, “when we face up to the glory of God,We find ourselves facedown in worship.”
